WHY you might

Negotiated Resale Rights were created to give the art world flexibility when it comes to profit sharing. Not every sale will be the right one for an NRR, and not every artist or collector will be interested. That’s cool. But for an artist who would like additional flexibility in their negotiations with collectors, or the ability to create a future profit-sharing structure, the NRR is a helpful tool. For the gallerist, who worries that the harder they try the more likely they are to have their artists move on and up, the NRR enables them to reap more of what they sow. For a collector who recognizes that without the artist making the work in the first place, and continuing to build their practice, the NRR can be a way to sustain and build the relationship with the artists they collect. The Negotiated Resale Right is a resale right for everyone.
